Young boy dies after ‘falling from window’ – large 999 response to ‘tragedy’

A tragic incident occurred in Nottingham as a young boy reportedly fell from a window and later passed away. The emergency services, including multiple 999 crews, responded swiftly to the incident in an effort to save the child. The eight-year-old boy was rushed to Queen’s Medical Centre but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries. Nottinghamshire Police have labelled the incident as ‘tragic’ and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding it.

The authorities were alerted to the incident at 7.15pm on Wednesday evening, September 18, on Costock Avenue by the East Midlands Ambulance Service. Neighbours recounted the distressing scene, with one saying, “I heard it all going off and looked out of my window. I came out in my pyjamas. A neighbour found the boy and then soon after there was police, ambulance, paramedics here. The street was full. The police escorted them to the hospital.”

Chief Inspector Jon Scurr expressed his condolences, stating, “This is a tragic and devastating loss of life and our thoughts are with the boy’s family and loved ones.” He urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
