A Yodel delivery driver has been captured on CCTV throwing a customer’s parcels over a 6ft gate in a shocking display of delivery mishandling. The incident involved Steph McIntosh, 33, who found two large cardboard boxes containing breakable figurines thrown onto her driveway on September 9 in St Austell, Cornwall. McIntosh, who was initially unaware of the delivery, discovered the tossed packages after noticing them on her drive. Reviewing her doorbell footage, she observed the driver pressing the bell on her gate but received no notification.
Expecting a standard delivery placement, McIntosh was dismayed to see her packages hurled over the 6ft gate, resulting in creased and split boxes. One of the items inside, fragile figurines, had pieces that fell apart due to the rough handling. McIntosh expressed concern over the delivery driver’s behaviour and proceeded to file a formal complaint with Yodel, seeking reassurance that such incidents would not recur. In response, Yodel acknowledged the lapse in their service, apologising for the substandard delivery and outlining measures to prevent future occurrences.
The business advisor also raised the issue with the supplier of the items, aiming to secure a refund for the damaged goods.
