A 36-year-old woman assaulted a shop worker in Newport with a bottle of Prime energy drink during a dispute over a £500 gift card purchase. The incident, which occurred on June 15, left the victim needing six stitches. The woman pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was sentenced to a community order of 100 hours of unpaid work by Judge Christopher Vosper at Cardiff Crown Court.
