Mark and Rosalind Causey had finally found their dream home in Pembrokeshire, fulfilling their long-held desire to move back to Wales for a happy retirement. However, their joy was short-lived as tragedy struck unexpectedly. Mr. Causey collapsed suddenly on April 30, 2024, revealing an undetected brain cancer. His wife, looking after her mother at the time, became concerned when she couldn’t reach him, prompting a welfare check that led to the devastating diagnosis. Despite initially being given a few weeks to live, Mr. Causey bravely fought for 19 more weeks before passing away on September 17 at the age of 61.
Known for his love of motorcycles and passion for charity work, Mr. Causey lived a vibrant life, running marathons and raising funds for various causes. His wife, Ros, fondly remembers their 27-year marriage and the recent years spent in each other’s company, building a deep love and respect. She recounts how they fell in love all over again in Wales, cherishing their walks in the countryside and shared experiences.
In the midst of their grief, Mrs. Causey is grateful for the support they received from the community, the Paul Sartori Foundation, and healthcare professionals. She is determined to honour her husband’s memory by fulfilling his final wish of staying at home and organising a unique tribute for his funeral. The touching gesture involves a Hayabusa hearse, symbolising their shared love for motorcycles and bringing friends and fellow bikers together to accompany Mr. Causey on his last ride.
