Michelle House, also known as Lang, aged 53, and Vernon Jones, aged 50, were arrested after concerns were raised about messages between them regarding sexual activities with the victim. The couple’s phones were seized by the police in 2021, leading to the discovery of category C images of the teenager. At a sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court, it was revealed that the images showed the victim in various stages of undress, with some taken in the shower. Additionally, disturbing messages were found on their phones discussing Jones’ desire to engage in sexual acts with the teenager. It was disclosed that House sent the images to Jones, who then edited them and sent them back.

Jones, residing in Ysguborwen, Abergavenny, admitted guilt to possession and distribution of class C indecent images. The court noted that he had no prior similar convictions. On the other hand, House, from St David’s Road, Abergavenny, pleaded guilty to making, possessing, and distributing class C indecent images. Her defence lawyer cited her vulnerability due to acute anxiety and depression, stating that she was of previous good character. The defence for Jones also claimed the offence was out of character and isolated, with no evidence of attraction to young children.
