Wanted Cardiff man, caught and charged on attempted murder

Rhys Hooper (AKA Rhys Ullah) from Dinas Powys, who was wanted by South Wales Police on assault has been found and arrested.

Hooper, 36, has been charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody. He is due to appear before Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday 4th May.

Last year Mr Hooper was ordered to pay £169 in a fine, compensation, costs and a surcharge after he pleaded guilty to criminal damage at the Copthorne Hotel.

Back in 2007 Rhys Hooper (aka Ullah), at the age of 22 was living in Grangetown, Cardiff. He was given a seven-month jail term, suspended for 12 months, for assaulting a Gemma O’Keefe and for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour.
