A two-month-old baby tragically died at home in Llanharan, near Pontyclun, as reported by Wales Online. The baby boy, Toby Luca Thorngate, was born via emergency caesarean at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Bridgend on April 16. His parents found him lifeless in the early hours of June 26 despite their efforts to save him. Upon discovering Toby, his mother immediately began CPR while his father called emergency services.
Despite the prompt arrival of paramedics, Toby could not be revived, as revealed during an inquest opening on August 20 by area coroner for south Wales central, Patricia Morgan. A post-mortem examination conducted by paediatric pathologist Dr. Andrew Bamber listed the cause of Toby’s death as unascertained. The inquest was adjourned for further information gathering, and condolences were expressed to Toby’s grieving family by Ms. Morgan.
