In a tragic incident at a trampoline park, a child has passed away after being hurried to the hospital. The emergency services were alerted to Flip Out Glasgow on Southcroft Road in Rutherglen around 11am on Sunday, August 18. According to police statements, the child fell ill at the trampoline park leading to a swift response by emergency personnel. Despite efforts, the child was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children, where they were sadly pronounced dead.
The Flip Out Glasgow centre decided to close for the day following the distressing event. A Police Scotland spokesperson stated, “Enquiries are ongoing after a child took unwell at a premises in Southcroft Road, Rutherglen shortly before 11.00am on Sunday, 18 August 2024. The child was taken by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children where they were pronounced dead.” The announcement continued to assure that there were no suspicions of foul play, and an official report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. The Health and Safety Executive has also been informed.
