A recent incident involving a train manager at Great Western Railway (GWR) has shocked the nation, as Nicholas McMurray, a 38-year-old train manager, was sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman on a train journey from Cardiff to Swansea. The victim, who is now a student, was travelling to Swansea to be picked up when McMurray approached her to check her ticket. The incident occurred in June last year when McMurray took advantage of the isolated section of the train near the carriage doors to assault the teenager. Additionally, McMurray has been added to the sex offenders register for life.
