Controversial plans for a new McDonald’s drive-thru in Pontardawe have been approved by Neath Port Talbot Council’s planning committee, despite objections. Concerns were raised about traffic congestion and childhood obesity risks. The drive-thru will create around 120 jobs and attract visitors to the area. The decision was made after a close vote and conditions were added to regulate the opening hours.
