Thug stamped on unconscious man’s head three times in horrific footage

A disturbing CCTV footage captured the horrifying moment a thug stamped three times on the head of an unconscious man. The victim, Keysi Arten, sustained facial injuries during the brutal attack in Cardiff city centre. Samaale Nourbouh, 24, was identified as the perpetrator of this heinous assault that shocked onlookers. The incident took place around 5:55 am on July 29, 2023, outside the Proud Mary nightclub on St Mary Street.

The altercation between Nourbouh, Mr. Arten, and another individual, Mustafa Ahmed, escalated into a scuffle, drawing the attention of bystanders who tried to intervene. After a series of physical altercations, Ahmed punched Mr. Arten seven times, causing him to fall to the ground. Despite the victim being unconscious, Nourbouh callously proceeded to stamp on his head three times. Witnesses described the victim as badly injured, with one even fearing he was dead.

Security guards apprehended the victim while concerned witnesses rushed to assist Mr. Arten, who was taken to the University Hospital of Wales for treatment. He suffered from swelling to his head and lip, as well as head pain, with no recollection of the attack. Nourbouh, who pleaded guilty to attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, had a history of previous convictions, including assault and drug offences, leading to his deportation to the Netherlands before illicitly returning to the UK.

At the sentencing hearing in Cardiff Crown Court, Nourbouh received a 12-month prison term for his cowardly actions. The judge condemned the assault as “sickening” and highlighted the potential lethality of such brutal acts. Despite facing deportation, Nourbouh expressed a desire to stay in the UK to care for his ailing mother. His co-accused, Ahmed, was dealt with in a magistrates’ court and received a community order.

The judge emphasised the severity of the assault, stating, “This is the sort of behaviour that can kill someone or cause very serious injury.” Nourbouh’s sentence included serving half the term in custody before being released on licence. The court session shed light on the need for accountability and justice in cases of senseless violence, underscoring the importance of upholding the law to protect individuals in society.
