Alexandru-Iulian Dima, a man associated with an organised crime group, conducted a series of thefts at various Boots stores in Wales over six months, stealing goods valued at over £55,000. Dima, 25, arrived in the UK in 2023 looking for work but turned to theft, targeting stores in Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taf, and Pembrokeshire. He stole more than £18,000 worth of goods in Wales alone. Sentenced to four years in prison, Dima faced deportation upon release. The thefts had a significant impact on the businesses and employees.
