The people who transformed a retail park’s fortunes now have a major new project

Centurion, the company known for turning around the fortunes of Parc Tawe Retail Park, has embarked on a new venture to revitalize Swansea’s city centre. The Quadrant Shopping Centre in Swansea has been acquired by Centurion, a local retail property and regeneration company. Under their ownership, Parc Tawe Retail Park went from being half-empty to attracting major new tenants like Ninja Warrior UK, Flashpoint, Aldi, and Sports Direct, resulting in a significant increase in footfall.

The leasehold for The Quadrant has been purchased by Centurion for 999 years from Coal Pension Properties Limited, with Swansea Council owning the freehold. Key company executives, Jane White and Adam Gibbons, are leading the strategy to enhance the centre, focusing on increasing occupancy levels and providing affordable service charges to existing and potential tenants. The goal is to restore the centre’s retail identity while maintaining a high occupancy rate.

The centre currently stands at 95% occupancy, with plans to attract more big-name and local brands. Discussions are underway to potentially extend operating hours, with a focus on accommodating retailer needs. Centurion aims to create a personal and responsive environment for businesses operating within the centre, fostering a collaborative approach to drive footfall and enhance the overall shopping experience.

Centurion’s successful track record at Parc Tawe Retail Park has set a solid foundation for their approach at The Quadrant Shopping Centre. While the centre continues to retain its retail focus, discussions are ongoing to introduce new initiatives that will further elevate the shopping destination. With a keen eye on enhancing tenant experience and attracting quality brands, Centurion is poised to bring a new lease of life to The Quadrant and contribute to Swansea city centre’s regeneration.

As Centurion embarks on this ambitious project, the company remains committed to working closely with Swansea Council and the local community to ensure the continued success and vibrancy of The Quadrant Shopping Centre. Stay tuned for exciting developments at The Quadrant as Centurion works towards making it a thriving hub for shopping, leisure, and community engagement.
