The first drive-thru GREGGS in Wales has now open in Newport

Drive by steak bake and a doughnut anyone?

Wales’ first drive-thru Greggs has finally opened in Newport (hoorah).

The new baked goods shop has opened on Port Road, Maesglas is the companies 12th drive-thru in the UK and the first one in Wales creating 22 jobs in the city.

The origional plans were to open Wales first drive-thru in Swansea last March which was due to open last summer but in not yet completed, meaning Newport is home to the first in Wales.

The store also offers customers a click-and-collect service where orders can be placed via the Greggs app. The shop’s opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 6am to 7pm and Sunday 7am to 5pm.

Shop manager Gavin Window told Walesonline: “We can’t wait to welcome both Greggs fans and new customers to our brand-new shop. We’ve got an amazing range of tasty bakes, hot drinks, sweet treats, and savouries available for takeaway or click and collect.”

Roisin Currie, retail and property director for Greggs, said: “Our new drive-thru in Wales has brought 22 new jobs to Newport as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their favourite Greggs food.”
