The best days for the beach on the last week of the summer holidays and the ones to avoid

The summer is not over quite yet and there is still some time to soak in some sun at the beach before we hit the autumn. With just one week left of the school holidays, many will be hoping to make the most of the final stretch of summer. According to the Met Office, Wales can expect to see highs of 23C in the coming week, starting from Tuesday, August 27. This means there are still warm and sunny days left to enjoy at some of the country’s most popular beaches.

Although many parts of Wales will see grey skies and showers on Tuesday, the forecast predicts that many areas can expect this to lift through the latter part of the week, revealing a beautiful and sunny weekend. The outlook from Wednesday to Friday includes a band of rain slowly edging eastwards on Wednesday, with drier and brighter conditions expected on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures near average.

Here is the forecast near some of Wales’ best beaches:

Barry Island: Conditions are set to be dry and bright in Barry over the coming week. Highs will range between 19C and 23C, with sunshine every day. There may be some cloud between Tuesday and Thursday, but skies are expected to be largely clear from Friday to Sunday.
