Ted Baker makes announcement about future after closing UK stores

Ted Baker has announced plans to relaunch its online business in the UK later this year after closing its high street stores. The closure of Ted Baker’s remaining 31 stores in the UK and Ireland followed the collapse of No Ordinary Designer Label Limited, the company responsible for Ted Baker’s UK operations. Founded in Glasgow in 1988 by Ray Kelvin, Ted Baker is known for its distinctive patterns and florals.

Authentic Brand Group, the US-based owner of Ted Baker, has secured a deal with United Legwear & Apparel Co to manage Ted Baker’s e-commerce operations in the UK and Europe. United Legwear will also oversee Ted Baker’s wholesale, concession shops, and e-commerce in the US and Canada, as well as its men’s sportswear, golf apparel, and denim businesses. Jarrod Weber from Authentic Brand Group expressed excitement about the partnership, citing consumers’ appreciation for Ted Baker’s British style.

Chris Volpe, the COO of United Legwear, highlighted their commitment to providing Ted Baker customers with a seamless online shopping experience that exceeds expectations. The move to relaunch Ted Baker’s online platforms aims to continue the brand’s legacy and resonate with consumers who value quality, design, and individuality. The partnership between Authentic Brand Group and United Legwear signifies a new chapter for Ted Baker in its country of origin.

The announcement comes as a positive development for fans of the brand, who can look forward to accessing Ted Baker products online once again. With this strategic move, Ted Baker aims to maintain its presence and cater to its loyal customer base in the digital sphere.
