Swansea business shut down and man arrested after police raid

A Swansea business has been shut down, and a man has been arrested following a police raid in the area. The incident occurred on St Helen’s Road in Swansea, where South Wales Police, together with representatives from the Mid and West Wales Fire Service, trading standards, and Swansea Council, carried out the operation.

PC Gareth Jennings, who led the operation, stated that the police responded to information regarding drug misuse, safety concerns, and the unlicensed sale of alcohol at the premises. During the raid, a number of items related to the unlicensed sale of alcohol were seized, and the premises were found to have serious failings in terms of health and safety regulations. As a result, a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class B drugs.

An immediate closure notice was issued for the premises, which police identified as being operated as shisha bars. A spokesperson for South Wales Police mentioned that the local neighbourhood policing team, along with partner agencies, conducted the raid. The closure notice was served on the occupants with immediate effect.

PC Jennings emphasised that drug dealing and misuse, as well as neglect of people’s safety, will not be tolerated. The police will continue to take robust action based on information received from the public regarding such activities.

The swift and decisive action taken by the authorities highlights their commitment to addressing illicit activities and ensuring public safety in Swansea. Residents have been urged to report any suspicious behaviour or concerns to the police to help maintain a safe and secure community.
