Speeding Lamborghini driver makes cheeky request to police

A Lamborghini driver in the UK made a bold and cheeky request to police officers after being pulled over for speeding. The driver, who was behind the wheel of a £200,000 Lamborghini, was stopped by road traffic officers in Bury, Greater Manchester, following four reports of the lime-green sports car speeding.

Upon inspection, it was revealed that the driver did not have insurance for the luxury vehicle. In a surprising move, the driver pleaded with the officers to let him off the hook by mentioning that it was his wedding day. However, the police did not fall for the request and instead proceeded to seize the vehicle. They jokingly mentioned that since they had no confetti on hand, they decided to “throw six penalty points” at the driver instead.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police shared the incident on X, stating, “Four reports of this Lamborghini speeding in Bury. When stopped, driver couldn’t prove valid insurance, but asked to be let off as it’s his wedding day. Had no confetti on hand, so we improvised and threw six points at the would-be groom instead. Car seized.”

The driver’s attempt to use his wedding day as a reason to evade punishment did not work in his favour, as the police upheld the law and enforced penalties. The extravagant gesture of driving a high-end sports car without insurance on such a special occasion raised eyebrows and led to the seizure of the vehicle.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of abiding by traffic regulations and ensuring proper documentation while driving, regardless of the circumstances. The cheeky request made by the Lamborghini driver may have backfired, but it certainly caught the attention of both law enforcement and the public.
