Special number plates are now being issued to drivers who find parking challenging, sparking a debate among road safety experts and driving organisations. Research shows that almost half of UK motorists believe they would benefit from more guidance on parking techniques. A significant percentage of drivers admit to feeling anxious about parking, and some even go to great lengths, such as searching for parking spots with empty spaces on both sides to avoid tight spots. The study conducted by Scrap Car Comparison also identified specific car owners who are more likely to benefit from parking assistance, with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, and Toyota drivers topping the list. Individuals within the 17 to 24 age group are particularly open to receiving additional guidance on parking, indicating a significant demand for improved training and support in this area.
