Sainsbury’s Nectar card holders have been given a two-week warning about a change in policy affecting their ability to collect and redeem points. The supermarket announced that starting from September 1, Nectar points can no longer be earned or used on eBay. Currently, customers earn one Nectar point for every £1 spent on eBay, but after the upcoming change, they will have to use the Nectar platform to continue accumulating points from eBay purchases.
Despite this alteration, Sainsbury’s has assured customers that opportunities to earn points will still be available post-September. In fact, the revised policy brings an additional benefit for Nectar card holders – they will now receive double points for purchases made through the Nectar app, equating to two points for every £1 spent. A Nectar spokesperson stated, “From September 1, the way you collect and spend Nectar points with eBay is changing. You will no longer be able to collect or spend Nectar points directly on the eBay website or app, and your Nectar and eBay accounts will be unlinked.”
Moreover, Sainsbury’s has pledged to introduce a new offer specifically designed to enhance the points accumulation for Nectar card holders. To continue earning Nectar points on eBay transactions after the policy change, shoppers are advised to access eBay through the Nectar app or website. This move aims to streamline the point collection process and ensure Nectar users can still benefit from their purchases on the eBay platform.
As the deadline approaches, Nectar card holders are urged to familiarise themselves with the upcoming modifications and adjust their shopping habits accordingly. By proactively engaging with the Nectar app, customers can make the most of the double points feature and maximise their rewards from eBay transactions. Stay informed and make the necessary adjustments before the September 1 deadline to continue enjoying the benefits of the Nectar card loyalty programme.
