A 33-year-old repeat shoplifter, Paul Loose, from the Westminster Hotel in Chester, has been prohibited from entering all shops in Wrexham city centre. Loose appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Monday, November 18, where he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft. Despite being previously banned from Farmfoods on Whitegate Road for shoplifting, Loose was caught in the store on Sunday, October 20. He stole over £20 worth of coffee during this incident.

As part of his sentence, Loose must undergo six months of drug rehabilitation and 15 days of rehabilitation activity. The sentencing aims to address Loose’s habitual shoplifting behaviour, preventing further incidents in the city centre.

She stated that the sentence is a part of Operation Blizzard, a collaborative effort with local businesses and organisations to combat retail crime leading up to the festive season. The operation focuses on deterring habitual offenders and safeguarding staff, customers, and businesses from criminal activities.
