A drug dealer continued selling cocaine even after walking out of a crown court dock with a suspended prison sentence for a street attack. Dylan Forbes was found dealing after a police chase in Swansea led to the discovery of his drug stash. Forbes, sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison, has a criminal history including violence, blackmail, harassment, and drug supply.
Forbes was arrested after a high-speed pursuit where he and another individual fled the car and ran. The accomplice, who left the UK, is being sought by authorities. A search of Forbes’ residence uncovered cocaine, creatine, and drug paraphernalia. Messages on his phones revealed a timeline of drug supply activity leading up to his arrest.
Forbes previously received a suspended sentence for assault but continued offending. His defence acknowledged the inevitability of a custodial sentence, attributing his actions to financial gain. The judge warned Forbes about his choices and disregard for court orders, sentencing him to five-and-a-half years in prison with a consecutive term for the previous assault.
The defence expressed Forbes’ determination to change and break the cycle of offending. Despite familial support, Forbes faces the consequences of his criminal behaviour and the need to make better choices. The judge emphasised Forbes’ opportunity to reform as he approaches his 30th birthday, suggesting it is not too late to change his path.
