Prim and proper pooch named ‘most British dog ever’ – as he refuses to eat biscuits unless dunked in tea

A husky named Rufus has gained fame for his unusual eating habits, earning him the title of ‘the most British dog ever’. The eight-year-old pooch, adopted by Olivia Jackson, will only eat biscuits if they are first dunked in a cup of tea. Olivia discovered Rufus’ unique preference shortly after bringing him home last year. Intrigued by his reaction, she dipped a malted milk biscuit into her tea and offered it to Rufus, who eagerly consumed it. Since then, Rufus has insisted on having his biscuits dunked in Yorkshire Tea before eating them.

Footage of Rufus enjoying his tea-dunked biscuits has gone viral on TikTok, attracting three million views. Fans have dubbed Rufus as ‘the most British husky’ and a ‘distinguished gentledog’. Olivia, from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, described Rufus as picky and shared that his favourite biscuits are malted milk and custard creams. She mentioned that they often enjoy cups of tea together, with Rufus having his tea just like Olivia. The duo partakes in this quirky tea and biscuit ritual two to three times a week.

Some TikTok users were surprised to see Rufus lick the biscuit before dunking it into tea, but Olivia clarified that Rufus has his own cup of tea and biscuits for hygiene reasons. Despite the initial shock, many viewers praised Rufus for his refined eating habits. Olivia’s TikTok post showcasing Rufus’ preference for dunked biscuits garnered positive comments, with users admiring the husky’s polite demeanour while enjoying his treat.

Olivia also highlighted Rufus’ polite behaviour, attributing it to his upbringing around children. She shared that Rufus patiently waits for his snacks and takes them gently from her hand. The duo’s tea and biscuit routine has become a regular occurrence, with Rufus exhibiting good manners throughout. Despite the humorous nature of Rufus’ preference, Olivia and her beloved husky have formed a heartwarming bond over their shared love for tea and biscuits.
