Sexual Predator Sentenced for Attempted Child Exploitation in Wales
A disturbing case has emerged where a sexual predator, Liam Lewis, 31, from Ferndale, offered drugs to someone he believed was a child under 13 as part of a plan to sexually abuse and rape them. The predator was convicted of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and attempting to arrange/facilitate the commission of a child sex offense involving rape or assault by penetration of a child under 13. The sentencing hearing took place at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, revealing the chilling details of Lewis’s actions as he engaged with a decoy posing as a child.
Tarian, the regional organized crime unit for south Wales, came across Lewis after he interacted with the decoy, offering to supply crack cocaine and inciting them to engage in penetrative sexual activity. Subsequently, officers executed a warrant at an address in Porth, leading to Lewis’s arrest and remand into custody.
