Police name couple found dead in Cardiff house

Police have identified the married couple discovered deceased at a residence in Cardiff over the weekend. The authorities were alerted to a property in Morfa Crescent, Trowbridge, on Saturday afternoon. South Wales Police have named the individuals as Christine Jeffries, 72, and Stephen Jeffries, 74, whose bodies were found at the semi-detached house around 2.50pm on Saturday, October 5. The couple was found deceased, and a rifle was removed from the property.

Detective Chief Inspector Lianne Rees of South Wales Police expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Christine and Stephen Jeffries at this difficult time.” She added, “Extensive enquiries are continuing as we establish the tragic events which took place on Saturday. I would like to thank the community for their continued support and understanding while we progress the investigation.” Family members are receiving ongoing support and updates, and detectives are not pursuing any other suspects in connection with the incident.
