Plans revealed to turn former Penarth luxury hotel that welcomed celebrities into home

Plans have been unveiled to convert the former luxury Holm House hotel in Penarth into a large home. The hotel, which hosted celebrities like Harry Styles and Daniel Craig, closed this year due to financial difficulties after the Covid-19 pandemic. The conversion will maintain the building’s original features with no external changes. The move aims to prevent the property from deteriorating as a vacant building and cater to the volatile demand for hotel accommodation in Penarth. The proposal also emphasises minimal alterations to retain the building’s architectural merit. The hotel, which dates back to the 1920s, has a rich history, having served as a care home and gained recognition as a ‘county treasure’.
