Aberystwyth Town Football Club, one of the oldest football clubs in Wales, has unveiled plans for a major redevelopment of its home ground, Park Avenue Stadium. The club has submitted a detailed proposal to Ceredigion County Council, which includes the demolition of the existing main stand and the construction of a new clubhouse, turnstile, changing rooms, business unit, and enhancements to the existing terraces.
According to a report by JMS Planning and Development, the project aims to obtain full planning permission for the redevelopment. The document underlines the rich history of Aberystwyth Town Football Club, highlighting its establishment in 1884, making it one of the oldest clubs in Wales. The club is also noted as one of the founding members of the Cymru Premier league and has never been relegated since its inception in 1992.
