Mum pleads guilty to killing her seven-year-old son

A tragic incident unfolded in Wales as a mother pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of her seven-year-old son. Papaipit Linse confessed to the killing of Louis Linse, her young son, who tragically passed away in January at a residence in Haverfordwest. The defendant appeared at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, November 22, where she admitted to manslaughter while denying the charge of murder. Caroline Rees KC, representing the prosecution, highlighted that psychiatric reports suggested a defence of diminished responsibility. After careful consideration of the evidence, the plea to manslaughter was accepted, and no trial for murder would be pursued.

As the case was adjourned for sentencing on December 13, Judge Paul Thomas KC described it as a “sensitive and terribly tragic” situation. The 42-year-old defendant, residing in Upper Market Street, Haverfordwest, will remain in a mental health unit until the sentencing takes place. The Dyfed-Powys Police responded to an address on Upper Market Street in January, where the seven-year-old child was confirmed deceased shortly before 10.45 am. This heartbreaking incident has left the community in shock and mourning for the young life lost.
