Mum in ‘agony’ with leg ulcer after NHS unable to treat her painful condition

A mum-of-two faced excruciating pain with a leg ulcer caused by varicose veins, as the NHS was unable to provide effective treatment. Samantha Ford sought private treatment after unsuccessful attempts with prescribed creams. Following endovenous laser ablation at Veincentre, her ulcer healed rapidly, improving her quality of life. Varicose veins, which can lead to ulcers, were addressed with the non-surgical laser treatment. Samantha’s relief was significant, as the pain subsided and her daily activities were no longer hindered. The NHS recommends lifestyle changes to manage varicose veins, as treatment for cosmetic improvement is usually not covered.
