A mother and her children were rescued by a “hero” farmer after being stranded on a snowbound road in Wales. Jess Kendall, 28, along with her eight-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter, found themselves stuck on a treacherous road in the Welsh countryside while en route to a birthday party outing. Heavy snowfall had made the road impassable near Llanwenog, Ceredigion, leaving Jess and other motorists stranded for nearly four hours.
As they waited in freezing conditions with the car engine running to keep the children warm, a local farmer came to their rescue. Jess expressed her gratitude towards the farmer, highlighting the often unacknowledged support provided by farmers in times of need. She emphasised the essential role farmers play in helping the community, stating, “They deserve all the support we can give them. We’d all be lost without them.”
Jess shared that she had prepared well for the journey, ensuring she had supplies like a bottle of hot formula milk for her daughter and blankets for her son. Despite the unexpected heavy snowfall, Jess was equipped to provide for her children during the ordeal. She described how they passed the time playing in the snow while they waited for help to arrive.
After nearly four hours of being stranded, relief came in the form of a quad bike from a nearby farm informing them that help was on its way. A tractor soon arrived with a bucket loader to clear the snow and free the stranded vehicles. Jess later took to social media to express her gratitude for the farmer’s assistance, which garnered praise from others who recognised the selfless act of kindness.
Jess is now on a mission to find the farmer who rescued them and plans to show her appreciation with chocolates and whisky. She expressed her reluctance to venture out until the snow has cleared, jokingly mentioning that she didn’t want to risk getting stuck again. The incident highlighted the importance of community support in times of adversity and showcased the generosity and kindness of individuals like the farmer who went above and beyond to help those in need.
