Met Office Snow Maps Predict Snowfall in Wales Next Week
The Met Office has released detailed maps showing the exact locations and timing of expected snowfall in Wales next week. As temperatures drop across the country, forecasters are predicting even colder weather in the coming days. The Met Office has warned that snow is likely to hit various parts of Wales in the middle of next week, with BBC weatherman Matt Taylor also confirming the arrival of “colder Arctic air from Tuesday onwards.”
According to the Met Office’s precipitation maps, snow is forecasted to fall in Wales over three days – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The maps indicate that snowfall is expected in south, mid, and north Wales from Tuesday afternoon onwards, including areas north of Swansea and rural regions near Llandovery. Places like Builth Wells and parts of north Wales such as Bala and Caernarfon could also see snow. By Wednesday night, snow is predicted to become more widespread, affecting a larger portion of east and mid Wales.
The snow is anticipated to continue overnight into Wednesday morning, with areas like Merthyr Tydfil likely to be covered in white or grey, indicating potential snowfall. Although the snowfall may ease up during Wednesday, more snow is expected later in the evening. On Thursday, south Wales is expected to remain mostly snow-free, while residents in mid and north Wales could still experience patches of snow overnight into Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, the Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice in other parts of the UK, affecting the north of Scotland and the north of England on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It’s essential for residents to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts for their areas to be prepared for any potential disruptions.
