Matt and Emma Willis put ‘perfect holiday’ formula to the test
According to a recent study, the ideal holiday is a blend of adventure, exploration, and relaxation, with the perfect temperature being a cosy 23 degrees under clear blue skies. The survey, which polled 2,000 adults, found that eight out of ten people believe the best holiday strikes a balance between excitement and relaxation. 14 per cent of respondents mentioned that spending quality family time was crucial during an ideal break, while 10 per cent focused on enjoying delicious food and drinks. The remaining time is dedicated to creating lasting memories and embracing new experiences.
Despite the desire for the perfect holiday, four in ten Brits are still waiting for their dream trip. A significant 55 per cent expressed that their ultimate life goal was, or is, to embark on the perfect holiday, with partners and children being their preferred travel companions. The study revealed that 38 per cent of participants wished to visit multiple destinations during their dream holiday, with three to four spots being the ideal number. Moreover, a third of respondents suggested that a cruise would be the best way to achieve this goal, even if it meant travelling seven hours to reach dream locations.
When it comes to dream destinations, serene beaches and tropical islands were popular choices among adults surveyed. However, it’s not just about relaxation; many also expressed a desire to visit locations with significant historical landmarks as part of their ideal holiday. The survey disclosed that 45 per cent of parents tailor their holiday plans around their children’s needs, with a majority agreeing that a perfect escape should include amenities and activities catered to children.
Disney Cruise Line collaborated with first-time cruisers Matt and Emma Willis to sponsor the research. The couple embarked on the Disney Fantasy just before its maiden European summer season docking in the UK. During their voyage, Matt and Emma participated in various challenges curated by their famous friends, like Colleen Rooney and Rob Beckett. Footage from their experience showed them engaging in fun activities onboard the ship, from taking selfies to creating Disney-themed towel animals.
An official from Disney Cruise Line highlighted that everyone dreams of the perfect holiday, which offers a chance to unwind, reconnect, and immerse in new experiences. The Disney Fantasy is set to provide a wide array of entertainment, including character shows and deck parties for all ages, while adults can enjoy exclusive, child-free zones for some relaxation time. The ship’s crew welcomed Matt and Emma warmly, ensuring they had a memorable experience filled with fun challenges and moments of relaxation.
