Man who stole stack of advent calendars gets 168 days

Serial shoplifter Warren Staniforth, 39, has been sentenced to spend 24 weeks in prison for stealing a stack of advent calendars worth £150. The spree across Nottinghamshire saw Staniforth targeting seven different stores over the course of a month. His stealing spree included items such as cigarettes, chocolate buttons, steaks, prawns, sweets, alcohol, and coffee.

Staniforth’s thefts were finally brought to an end when Nottinghamshire Police caught up with him on October 30. Upon further investigation, he was linked to a series of other offenses, including the theft of £400 worth of steak and the repeated use of stolen credit cards, as well as a burglary and two counts of fraud by false representation. He was also found guilty of stealing a smartphone from a vehicle in Forest Fields.
