A man from East Sussex, Ewan Holme-Slater, was recently sentenced in Swansea Crown Court after a disturbing incident that occurred during a holiday in West Wales. The court heard how the Christmas holiday took a dark turn as Holme-Salter reportedly headbutted his partner in front of her teenage son, leading to a series of abusive actions. The trouble began when the group dined out for Christmas dinner in Fishguard and an altercation ensued between the victim’s partner and a restaurant staff member, leading to racial remarks being hurled at the victim. The situation escalated as they left the restaurant, with Holme-Slater verbally abusing his partner, calling her derogatory names and creating a hostile environment. As they drove back to their holiday accommodation, tensions continued to rise, resulting in Holme-Slater attempting to grab the steering wheel and making threats to crash the car.
The situation deteriorated further as they reached the holiday let, with verbal abuse escalating into physical violence. Holme-Slater punched his partner multiple times, leaving her with visible injuries, including a large cut on her nose.
