The disturbing case of a man coercing his partner into engaging in sexual acts with their pet dog has shocked the court and the public. Graham Marshall, 39, convinced Paige Reaney, 33, to partake in various sexual activities with their pet pug, Charlie. The judge, Jeremy Richardson KC, described Marshall as ‘wallowing in a swamp of sexual depravity’. Marshall received a five-and-a-half year prison sentence, while Reaney was handed a nine-month suspended sentence.
During the trial at Sheffield Crown Court, it was revealed that Marshall exerted a level of coercion on Reaney, leading her to participate in the acts involving their pet dog. The judge acknowledged Reaney’s culpability in the mistreatment of the dog, emphasizing that she never refused Marshall’s requests. The court heard how the couple shared images on TikTok with explicit comments, demonstrating Marshall’s perverted fantasies and Reaney’s compliance.
Judge Richardson expressed his deep concern over the distress and pain inflicted on Charlie during the forced acts. He deemed Marshall a dangerous offender and imposed an extended custodial sentence with a four-year extended licence period. Despite Marshall’s history of childhood sexual abuse and bestiality, the judge noted the severe consequences he faced, including being ostracised by his family and living in a tent in the woods.
Reaney, on the other hand, received a suspended prison term for her involvement in the bestiality and cruelty to animals. The judge highlighted the level of coercion Reaney experienced but also pointed out her active participation in the acts. He emphasized the unnecessary suffering inflicted on Charlie and condemned the deliberate infliction of pain during the bestial acts. Both Marshall and Reaney pleaded guilty to bestiality and cruelty to animals, along with other charges related to child abuse images and voyeurism.
