Cardiff man jailed for possession with intent to supply

A drug dealer from Llanishen, Cardiff was found in possession of £10,000 worth of cocaine and around £15,000 in designer clothes has been ordered to pay back £11,000.

Jayden Green, 21, of Cardiff, matched the description of a vulnerable teenager when he was stopped by police in Llanishen, back in May 9, he was riding an electric bike when he tried to ride off he was detained and searched.

As sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard Green was found in possession of a bag containing 7.3g of cocaine and various wraps as well as £514 cash, an iPhone, and a burner phone.

Police then attended Green’s home in Llanon Road, Llanishen, and found various amounts of cocaine and cannabis resin, more than £1,000 in cash, another burner phone, weighing scales, a rolled joint, a knuckleduster, and a Rambo knife.

Police became suspicious about the amount of expensive clothes as the defendant was unemployed and had no income apart from benefits. Messages were also found on the burner phones which were related to drug dealing. The total worth of the drugs were found were between £5,200 and £10,000.

Green later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of an offensive weapon, and possession of criminal property. He was sentenced to a total of 32 months imprisonment.

Appearing at the same court on Monday for a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing, the court heard Green had benefited to the tune of £19,618. The amount of assets he had available came to £11,289.

Judge Richard Williams ordered Green to pay the amount of £11,289 by March 4 next year. He will serve a further eight months imprisonment in lieu if the sum is not payed.
