Candidates Announced for Splott By-Election in Cardiff Following Councillor’s Passing
The upcoming by-election in Splott, Cardiff, has drawn significant attention following the untimely death of former councillor and lord mayor, Jane Henshaw. The seat left vacant by her passing has prompted several candidates to step forward in the race for the council position. The by-election, scheduled for Thursday, December 5, 2024, will determine the successor to the beloved local figure.

Additionally, applications for amendments, cancellations, or postal votes must reach the electoral registration officer by 5pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the specified address in County Hall. Notably, applications for emergency proxy votes must be submitted by 5pm on Thursday, December 5, the day of the by-election.
