Large fire breaks out at popular seaside town as people evacuated from their homes – live updates

A massive wildfire has erupted near Constitution Hill in Aberystwyth, prompting authorities to evacuate residents from their homes. Emergency services are currently present at the hillside in Ceredigion, and the flames are clearly visible from nearby houses.

The smoke emanating from the hillside is billowing into the sky, visible from the town center, and has even reached certain residential streets.

In response to the situation, Dyfed-Powys Police issued a statement: “Due to a fire, Infirmary Road in Aberystwyth is temporarily closed. We kindly request all local residents to keep their doors and windows shut while the emergency services work diligently to address the situation and ensure everyone’s safety. We appreciate your cooperation.”
