A Jet2 flight from Edinburgh to Dalaman was forced to divert to Cologne on Tuesday evening, October 8, after two passengers were offloaded by police following an incident onboard. Dramatic footage has emerged showing an allegedly intoxicated passenger causing a commotion on the flight. The woman could be heard repeatedly yelling “where are you taking me?” as she was escorted off in view of stunned fellow travellers.
The incident prompted the flight, LS781, which was heading to Dalaman, to be re-routed to Cologne to remove two “disruptive passengers” following disturbances onboard. One traveller shared footage showing German police officers boarding the aircraft and removing the individuals. Among them was a woman insisting she was innocent, shouting: “I don’t know what to do, this is not fair. I’ve not done anything wrong, where are you taking me.”
While being led down the aisle by officials, the woman bumped into another flyer and apologized before turning her attention back to the onlookers with a defiant yell. A passenger mentioned that the two disruptive passengers were intoxicated and had been warned before take-off. The crew had cautioned them about potential penalties, including a diversion cost of £20,000.
A spokesperson for Jet2.com confirmed that two passengers were offloaded for “disruptive behaviour,” impacting the subsequent Dalaman to Edinburgh flight. The airline provided hotel accommodation and refreshments for affected passengers. The spokesperson stated, “We can confirm that flight LS781 from Edinburgh to Dalaman diverted to Cologne due to disruptive passenger behaviour. The subsequent Dalaman to Edinburgh flight had to night stop in Dalaman. We have arranged for hotel accommodation and refreshments for everyone and will have them on their way home as soon as possible.”
