Huw Edwards stripped of top Welsh honour after admitting child image offences

Former BBC presenter Huw Edwards has been stripped of his Welsh honour at the National Eisteddfod after pleading guilty to child image offences. Edwards admitted to three counts of making indecent pictures of children from 2020 to 2022. The festival’s organisers unanimously voted to terminate his membership from the Gorsedd. Edwards, who had already left the BBC, will be sentenced next month. This marks the first time someone has been expelled from the Gorsedd.
