Man Repeatedly Enters UK in Breach of Deportation Order and Exposes Himself to Traffic Warden
A man from Romania, Guta Sima, has shocked the Swansea Crown Court after being charged with knowingly entering the UK in breach of a deportation order for the 10th time. The court also heard that Sima engaged in disturbing behavior by exposing himself to a traffic warden after receiving a parking ticket. The defendant, who had originally been served with the deportation notice in December 2017, pleaded guilty to the charges presented before him.
Over the span of three years, between December 2022 and January 2025, Sima disregarded the deportation order and made several entries into the UK through airports such as Stansted, Gatwick, and Luton. However, his most recent entry in January this year took place at Fishguard harbour in Pembrokeshire. In addition to repeatedly breaching the deportation order, Sima also admitted to seeking or obtaining leave to enter or remain in the UK through deceptive means, including the use of a false name and failure to disclose previous convictions.
During the court proceedings, Barrister David Leathley, representing Sima, offered a unique perspective on the defendant’s actions. He suggested that Sima may have resorted to flouting immigration laws in order to access life-saving medical treatment at King’s Hospital, which had been denied to him in Romania.
