Former Police Employee Revealed as ‘Dangerous and Manipulative’ Child Rapist
A shocking case has emerged where Alexander Wilson, a former police worker, was unmasked as a “dangerous and manipulative” child rapist. The distressing details of this case were brought to light in a court in Swansea, Wales. Wilson, who had also worked as a train manager, was handed a 20-year extended sentence for his heinous crimes.
The court heard how Wilson groomed a young girl and subjected her to a horrifying seven-year-long period of rape and abuse. Despite his despicable actions, Wilson vehemently denied his guilt, putting his young victim through the traumatic experience of a trial where she was visibly distressed and shaken while giving evidence. The judge noted that Wilson’s actions had inflicted immense psychological harm on his victim, with a police officer describing the damage as “incalculable”.
According to Mark Wyeth KC, the prosecuting barrister, Wilson displayed a pattern of being “cruel and emotionally manipulative” towards the child throughout the prolonged period of abuse. The court learned that the rapes began when the girl was just five years old and continued for several years until a distressing incident where Wilson coerced the child into a sexual act. It was only after the girl used a pre-agreed codeword and emoji with her mother that the abuse came to light.
Despite Wilson’s prior roles in law enforcement and public service, including working as a civilian enquiries clerk for South Wales Police and a community liaison officer for British Transport Police, the court highlighted his dangerous and predatory behaviour. While his defence counsel emphasised Wilson’s positive character and contributions in prison, the judge ultimately declared him a dangerous offender deserving of an extended sentence.
As part of his sentencing, Wilson was handed a 20-year term, with 17 years to be served in custody and a three-year licence period thereafter. It was stipulated that he must serve two-thirds of the custodial sentence before being eligible for release, pending a review by the Parole Board to assess his safety to society. Additionally, Wilson was ordered to register as a sex offender for life and subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order.
Following the sentencing, South Wales Police detective constable Chris Medlicott condemned Wilson as a “dangerous child sex predator” who had exploited and harmed a vulnerable victim. The detective highlighted the lasting impact of Wilson’s crimes on the victim, emphasising the need for support services for those affected by abuse.
For individuals seeking help and support in cases of abuse, various agencies and helplines are available round the clock. These services provide confidential assistance and information for victims and concerned individuals to ensure their safety and well-being. The case of Alexander Wilson serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilance and support for victims of abuse.
