Additionally, he was given a community order to partake in activities for up to 15 days and fined with costs of £85, along with a victim surcharge of £114.

Following James’ absence from council meetings, a spokesperson for Maesteg Town Council stated, “Mr James failed to attend any meetings for six months and therefore ceased to be a councillor. His last attendance at a meeting was December 18, 2023.” In response to the news, a representative for Welsh Labour declined to comment, though it is understood that James’ party membership has been suspended.
