The recent deaths in Vang Vieng, Laos, involved two Danes, an American, a Briton, and two Australians who fell ill after a night out. Suspicions point to methanol poisoning as the cause of these fatalities. In response, authorities have detained eight staff members from the Nana Backpackers Hostel in Laos for their suspected involvement in the methanol poisoning incidents. Meanwhile, an Australian individual who also suffered illness is reportedly in stable condition.
