A new Italian restaurant is making its way to Cardiff city centre, promising to deliver the authentic flavours of Puglia, in southern Italy, to the vibrant dining scene of the Welsh capital. Known as Terra Mare, this chic eatery will open its doors for the first time on Friday, October 11, offering foodies a taste of Puglian cuisine in a stylish setting.
Located at a former cocktail bar on the High Street, just a short distance from Cardiff Castle, Terra Mare has transformed the space into a fifty-cover dining room, featuring additional seating in the bar area and on an outdoor terrace. The restaurant also includes cosy booth seating for intimate dining, a feature bar, and wine display cabinets, setting the stage for a unique dining experience.
The menu at Terra Mare will showcase the “vibrant flavours” and “rich culinary heritage” of Puglia, with signature dishes such as grilled octopus with nduja and cannellini beans, wood pigeon breast & leg with squash and shaved cacao, and cuttlefish, mussel, and langoustine stew. Headed by chef Francesco Germinario, diners can expect a range of options from small plates to a full seven-course taster experience.
The restaurant will also offer a set menu with two courses for £25 or three courses for £30, catering to various dining preferences. In the bar area, guests can enjoy crafted cocktails, draught beer, and premium wines. Co-Founder of A&M Hospitality Group, Daf Andrews, expressed excitement about bringing the essence of Puglia to Cardiff, aiming to offer something for everyone, from a full dining experience to a casual drink and bite in the bar area.
Bookings for Terra Mare are now open on their website, with additional updates available on their Instagram account. With its focus on Puglian cuisine and a stylish dining ambiance, Terra Mare is set to become a new culinary gem in Cardiff, adding to the city’s diverse restaurant scene.
