Family of man who died in crash pay tribute

The heartbroken family of a man who tragically died in a crash in Flintshire have paid tribute to him. Simon Paul Williams, 33, was riding on the A541 on September 10 when he collided with a car near the B5123 junction at Rhydymwyn, close to Mold. Mr Williams, a mobile plant operator from Fourth Avenue, Flint, was airlifted to Aintree Hospital but sadly passed away two days later due to a traumatic brain injury as noted in his inquest. The family released a statement expressing their sorrow and mentioning that Mr Williams leaves behind his mother, two brothers, sister-in-law, and extended family, and that he passed away surrounded by loved ones at Aintree Hospital on September 12.

North Wales Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision, which is currently under investigation by the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit. The inquest has been adjourned to a later date. John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, mentioned during the hearing in Ruthin that no post-mortem examination was necessary as the cause of death was identified by hospital doctors.

The family’s tribute and the details of the accident highlight the devastating loss felt by those close to Mr Williams. The community in Flintshire mourns the passing of a beloved member, with many expressing their condolences and support for the family during this difficult time. The call for witnesses by the authorities indicates the ongoing efforts to understand the circumstances surrounding the collision and ensure that all necessary steps are taken.
