Family of girl injured in Southport stabbings speak out about riots

Family of Southport Stabbing Victim Grateful for Life-Saving Support, Condemns Riots

Merseyside Police announced the discharge of the final child injured in the Southport stabbings on July 29, who will now continue recovery at home. The family expressed gratitude to the hospital and air ambulance teams for saving their daughter’s life. They also denounced the recent disorder and attacks on police, emphasising the police officers’ prompt response and assistance during the tragic events. Despite concerns of further violence, enhanced police presence and swift justice measures have helped quell unrest. The riots stemmed from misinformation regarding the stabbings of three young girls, with nearly 500 arrests made across England and Northern Ireland. The accused, Axel Rudakubana, is set for trial in January.
