An investigation has been launched into a listeria outbreak in NHS hospitals and care homes, resulting in the deaths of three patients. The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has been investigating five cases of listeria infection that occurred between May and December last year. Listeriosis, caused by listeria bacteria, can lead to symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhoea, aches, and a high temperature.
