A significant fire erupted at an industrial estate in Newport, prompting the response of fire crews to the Wern Industrial Estate in the Rogerstone area on Sunday night.
Firefighters tackled a sizable blaze at one of the units within the estate, with video footage showing intense flames near the Tiny Rebel Brewery, one of the businesses on the premises. Although the fire started shortly before 8:50 pm, the first call to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service occurred at 8:45 pm.
Nine appliances and specialized units were dispatched to the scene, and Gwent Police announced the closure of Wern Industrial Estate, urging people to avoid the area and seek alternative routes. While it remains uncertain if multiple buildings are affected, there are no reported injuries at this stage.
Tiny Rebel Brewery assured that their business remained unaffected by the fire, with a spokesperson confirming the brewery’s safety to BBC Wales. The fire service continues to have multiple crews at the scene, emphasizing the need for nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed.
