Domino’s urgently asks customers to avoid menu item over health risk

Domino’s Urgently Warns Customers of Health Risk with Garlic and Herb Dip

Domino’s, the popular pizza chain, has issued an urgent alert to customers who have purchased pizza from their stores recently. In an email sent on September 16, a spokesperson from the franchise informed customers about a potential health risk associated with one of their popular menu items. The warning stated that some of Domino’s Garlic and Herb dip and Honey and Mustard dip may contain traces of peanuts.

The alert specified that the risk was identified in both the 100g ‘Big Dip’ pots and the smaller 25g pots that are typically included with pizza orders. Customers with peanut allergies were strongly advised to dispose of the dips and refrain from consuming them. However, for those without a peanut allergy, no further action was necessary. Domino’s expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by this issue and urged concerned customers to reach out via their website for more information.

According to the Food Standards Agency, around 6% of the UK adult population is estimated to have a clinically confirmed food allergy. The NHS highlights that food allergies can lead to various reactions, ranging from mild to severe. Symptoms to watch out for include skin reactions like hives or rashes, digestive problems, throat irritation, respiratory issues, runny nose, and eye discomfort.

Allergies are often triggered by common food items such as cows’ milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, and more. Individuals with existing allergies, asthma, or eczema may have a slightly higher risk of developing a food allergy. It is crucial to be aware of potential allergic reactions and seek medical advice if symptoms occur.

The Domino’s warning serves as a reminder of the importance of food safety and allergen awareness in the food industry. Customers are encouraged to take precautionary measures and stay informed about product recalls and health alerts from food establishments.飛
